Not far from the King Harry Car Ferry, The Smugglers' Cottage, dating from the 15th century, is situated at Tolverne, on the Roseland (Eastern) side of the river Fal. During World War II the Cottage was requisitioned and the road and beach built as an embarkation point for the D-Day landings.
The Cottage now serves morning coffees, lunchtime pasties and delicious cream teas.
Usual opening times are all week: 10:30am - 5:30pm and opening until 8:30pm in the high season. The Smugglers Cottage closes for the winter months usually from around late September or early October until April.
